Richtlinie für gesponserte Inhalte

Who is responsible for sponsored content at Sachspur?

Sachspur Media Ltd., registered in Gibraltar (company number C 92009, Malta Business Registry), owns and operates Sachspur. The publisher retains full editorial control over all content, including sponsored material, and the Chefredaktör Benjamin Krämer is ultimately accountable for ensuring that commercial arrangements never compromise journalistic standards.

The editorial team – led by Redaktionschef Stefanie Schulte and supported by fact‑checking under Vanessa Frank – reviews every piece of sponsored content before publication. This guarantees that all material meets the same accuracy, fairness and transparency requirements as our independent reporting. No advertiser or partner can dictate the editorial direction or alter a story without the newsroom’s explicit approval.

How is sponsored content labelled and distinguished from editorial content?

Every item that has been paid for or otherwise compensated by a third party must carry a clear, prominent label – such as “Sponsored Content”, “Sponsored” or “Anzeige” – at the top of the page and again in the article metadata. The label must be easily visible on all devices and remain in place even when the content is shared or embedded elsewhere.

The design of sponsored content uses distinct formatting or a different colour scheme to separate it visually from editorial stories. Navigation elements and related‑article suggestions for sponsored pieces are kept within the sponsored section; they never appear mixed with news content. This approach follows industry best practices and complies with Swedish and EU advertising regulations.

What is the difference between sponsored content and affiliate links?

Sponsored content is fully paid for by an advertiser and created by or in collaboration with Sachspur, whereas affiliate links are a performance‑based model where we may earn a commission if a reader clicks a link and makes a purchase. Both are disclosed, but the rules and labelling differ.

Affiliate links are marked with a short notice (e.g. “Contains affiliate links”) placed near the link or at the end of the article. Sponsored content is labelled more conspicuously and is subject to deeper editorial oversight because it is produced as a direct commercial arrangement. Our Advertising & Affiliate Disclosure further explains how readers can identify each type of commercial content.

How does Sachspur ensure editorial independence from commercial partners?

Commercial relationships – whether display advertising, sponsored content, newsletter sponsorships or content licensing – never determine what we publish or how we report a story. The editorial mission, defined by the Chefredaktör and the team, is to provide trustworthy Swedish journalism that helps readers understand complex issues without spin or oversimplification.

Partners receive no advance access to editorial content, nor can they request changes to independent stories. Sponsored content agreements are handled exclusively by the advertising and partnerships team, separate from the newsroom. Any attempt by an advertiser to influence editorial conclusions is reported to the publisher and may lead to termination of the relationship. Full details of our funding model are available on the Ownership & Funding page.

Where can readers inquire about sponsored content or report concerns?

All enquiries related to sponsored content should be sent to sponsored@sachspur.de. This email address is monitored by the partnerships team, who can provide information about current campaigns, pricing and editorial guidelines for advertisers.

If you believe a piece of sponsored content has not been labelled correctly or violates our standards, please contact the newsroom directly via our Contact page or email complaints@sachspur.de. The Chefredaktör reviews every complaint and will respond within five working days. Our Complaints Procedure outlines the full process.
