Beschwerdeverfahren

Sachspur takes complaints about its journalism seriously. Any reader who believes an article contains an error, is unfair, or breaches editorial standards may submit a formal complaint. This procedure explains how to do so, how we handle it, and who is accountable.

Who is responsible for handling complaints at Sachspur?

Benjamin Krämer, Chefredaktör, is ultimately responsible for all complaint handling at Sachspur. He oversees editorial standards and makes final decisions on corrections and complaints. Sachspur is owned and operated by Sachspur Media Ltd., a private company registered in Gibraltar (company number C 92009, Malta Business Registry) with registered office at Office 9, Business Centre, Valletta, 0000.

Day-to-day management of complaints is delegated to Vanessa Frank, who leads fact-checking, source verification and corrections, and to Stefanie Schulte, Redaktionschef. Any matter that cannot be resolved at their level is escalated to Benjamin Krämer for final review.

How can I submit a complaint?

Send your complaint by email to complaints@sachspur.de. Please include the article URL, the specific error or issue you identify, and your preferred contact information. If you are making a complaint about misleading reporting or a potential breach of the editorial policy, please also reference the relevant section of our Editorial Policy.

We aim to acknowledge receipt of every complaint within two working days. Anonymous complaints may be considered but we cannot guarantee a full investigation without a means of follow-up. You may also use the general contact form at /about-us/contact/ but the complaints email ensures your message reaches the correct team directly.

What happens after I submit a complaint?

Vanessa Frank reviews each complaint within five working days. She will assess the nature of the issue, check the article’s sourcing and fact-checking records, and consult the relevant editor. If the complaint concerns an factual error, a correction will be processed according to our Corrections Policy. If the complaint involves fairness, balance or editorial judgement, Stefanie Schulte will review the article and the complaint record.

If you are not satisfied with the initial outcome, you may escalate your complaint to Benjamin Krämer by replying to the response or by emailing him directly at anders.lindqvist@sachspur.de. He will conduct a further review and provide a final written decision within ten working days. All escalation requests are logged and tracked.

Where can I find our policies on corrections and privacy?

Our Corrections Policy explains how we correct errors, publish clarifications and update articles. Our Privacy Policy details how we handle personal data you submit with a complaint. Both documents are publicly accessible and form part of our commitment to transparency.

We encourage complainants to read the Corrections Policy before submitting, as it sets out the types of errors we correct and the process for readers to request a public correction. Any data you provide will be used solely to handle your complaint and stored securely in compliance with GDPR.

Where can I read our editorial policy and contact details?

Our complete Editorial Policy outlines the standards every Sachspur article must meet, including sourcing, fairness, independence and handling of sponsored content. For general contact information, please visit /about-us/contact/ where you will find phone numbers, postal addresses and alternative email addresses for the newsroom, press inquiries and partnerships.

All editorial staff are named on the About Us page, with their specific responsibilities. If your complaint relates to a particular writer or section, you may direct it to the relevant editor listed on that page.
